Come with us as we cycle from London to Paris!
Our London to Paris challenge will see us cycling 234 miles (377km) over four days, through two countries.  We set off bright and early from Crystal Palace and head south to the coast along small country roads.  An overnight ferry takes us to Calais and we arrive in La Belle France early on day two.  We then pedal from Calais to Abbeville through the picturesque countryside of Northern France.

Our third day follows the river Somme out of Abbeville and our exciting journey continues past pretty French hamlets and through the beautiful countryside to the town of Beauvais.

The penultimate day of our challenge will push our stamina with over 73 miles (118km) of cycling and 100 metres of ascent to Paris and the famous Arc de Triomphe, end point of the Tour de France.  The race will end with a glass of champagne and a fantastic feeling of achievement!  The next day, we travel back to the UK in the style and well earned comfort of the Eurostar.

Aspire's Independent Living Advisors work in Spinal Injury Centres around the UK.  They all have a spinal cord injury and can relate to what the patients are going through.  The Advisors are on hand to share their knowledge with patients who need to talk.

Trish was in the Princess Royal Spinal Injuries Unit in Sheffield when she met Paul, an Aspire Independent Living Advisor.

"Paul has been spinally injured for a while.  It helped to have someone there who had been through it all and could draw on their own experience of living an independent life.  He was so helpful to chat to, and he gave me advice on housing and gardening.  He was always spurring me on, keeping me going.  He gave me advice when I was upset and helped me cope with my worries.  I used to ask him lots of questions and he always had time for me."
